NEW: Grid TIE and Net Metering A bit of Renewable Energy History
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) offers an incentive program to help pay for grid tied PV systems. Currently the funding for this program is fully committed. This is most likely JUST A TEMPORARY situation. Further funding is expected from the NYPSC by Mid October 2008. We encourage you to make public comment of support for the renewable energy programs and ask for further funding of the NYSERDA solar PhotoVoltaic (PV) program. Be sure to request that the level of incentives for PV systems not be decreased or further complicated by additional requirements. The process takes time and you want to be ready when funding becomes available again.
