Two other houses on the tour were: Richfield Springs, Passive solar home with a sunroom uses ground source heat pump to store energy in the earth during the day for use at night. Another home on the tour is 1/3 mile ($13,000) off the utility grid near East Guilford, NY. It uses PV and Wind power with a backup generator to power everything, including a fridge, washer dryer fans, lights, vacuum cleaner, etc.
